Tags – How to Stay Organised as a Student

Student life is not always as it seems.

Naturally, you will experience a lot of ups and downs.

However, staying organised will always be of benefit to you.

Regardless of what is going on in your life, it’s important to remember that the world is not able to observe your paining veins.

In this blog, you will learn tips on how to keep your organization intact during student life.

  • Set Goals

With targets in mind, it becomes easier to achieve things in life.

If possible, create a vision board and put it in a place that is visible to you.

We recommend taking a few moments to look at it every day; this will reset your focus every time it feels like things are beginning to go south.

If you study smartly, score good grades, learn the soft and technical skills in the best way possible, there won’t be much to worry about in life.

  • Follow a Routine

A very strict routine can be unhealthy. But you need to do most of your tasks at the right time.

For instance, if you have classes early in the morning, it will be mental torture if you are enjoying the nightlife.

Yes, some people are night riders and their creativity self-awakens during this time.

However, there are things that are not in your control.

Therefore, accept the realities of life and build a routine that is good for your health and studies.

  • Take Notes

Even if you are a very bright student who learns everything in class and has an attendance of over 95% all the time; you still need to take notes

Never rely on just your memory, lecture slides, notes from teachers or course books.

There is a high chance you will learn things in class that will be difficult to revise from a book later on.

So, always take notes in class.

  • Set a Deadline before a Deadline

Setting deadlines can be tricky but works very well if you make a habit of it.

University tests and exams can be stressful, and there are times when the deadlines of different subject assignments will clash with each other.

Consequently, if you leave everything to the last moment, chances are, even if you submit everything, the quality of your work can suffer.

So always try to set your own deadlines.

  • Avoid Multitasking

Even the machines do not multitask.

Instead, they work in intervals and it seems like multitasking is happening.

Give your utmost focus to one thing at a time; divided attention often leads to longer hours of work.

If possible, use Parkinson’s Law

By giving yourself as little time as possible to complete a task and go berserk without breaking the attention towards any other task.

  • Declutter Stuff

At the end of every week, go through your notes, brochures, papers, notes etc and recycle or throw away all the not needed paper waste.

As a result, it will help you create space for more paper and organise your existing notes and all the paperwork.

  • Use Sticky Notes

You can use sticky notes as reminders to yourself on important things to do.

Put them in places where they will be visible at the right time.

For example, on your room door you can put the note of all the things you need to take to University in the morning.

  • Plan Every Day

It is better to take 5 minutes of your life every day and think about everything.

Ask yourself questions like, what things need to change? What is going good and bad in life? How can you improve yourself with certain things?

Plan about anything and everything.

  • Say No If Necessary

To many people, saying ‘no’ is the hardest thing in life.

If you don’t have the time and your friend needs help with studies; give yourself the first preference.

They can take help from someone else.

Always remember, your studies and grades are equally important and there is nothing bad in saying ‘no’.

  • Do The Small Things Quickly

If a task needs 2 minutes of your time. Prioritize it and get rid of it immediately.

Don’t pile up all the small things in life and resolve them before working on the bigger tasks.

Hopefully, these 10 tips will help you to become more organised during your student life. If you begin to feel overwhelmed by the amount of tasks you have to complete daily, refer to this guide and go back to the basics!
